IPSY May 2013

Just look at this crazy bag design! This month's theme is Spring Fling. Is it still considered Spring? I feel like it's summer already. Such hot hot weather. I saw the sneak peeks for this bag and I was really excited. I love Zoya nail polish. I don't know how many I have, but I do have a lot. Maybe one of these days I'll count up my collection of polish.

Concealer Refill by yaby
Yay for more concealer. I haven't tried this yet, but I'm interested to see what the coverage is like. I like that it comes in a metal pan so I can add it to my Beatuy Rx kit.

Blu by Zoya
Like I said, I love Zoya nail polish. Not only is the lacquer formula free of the bad stuff, they have a variety of awesome colors and the coverage is pretty good. Also, I love that I got this beautiful light blue color. Can't wait to try it out.

Color Sheers Lipstick by Mirabella
o0o ahh, red lipstick!

Island Vanilla and Tahitian Gardenia Perfume Roll-on
I think the packaging is very cute, but I'm not a fan of vanilla scents. They're too strong for me and it's not appealing to me at all. Eh.

Finishing Serum by NuMe
This is for your hair. Use it to remove frizz and add a luscious shine to your locks. I don't know why but my hair still hasn't fully recovered from winter. Hopefully this will work out for me.

Friday's Fancies - Stripes

Herro and happy Friday!! This week seemed to drag extra long, but also I felt like I didn't have time for anything. So glad that it's the weekend now, but I just have to get through today. I don't have any major plans this weekend. I think I'll just catch up on some TV shows and work on the blog. Boring much?

So let me talk a little bit about my outfit that I put together for this week's Fancies. You know they say that stripes are slimming. I don't know how true that is, but I have been loving striped tops lately. I've also been digging turquoise blues and coral shades. Really loving this outfit. I think it's a cute combination of both colors. It's simple but still fancy. Totally want that iPhone case and that bracelet.

Well, have a good one!

Friday's Fancies - Weekend Wear

TGIF y'all! I know it's been a while since I've been posting on a regular basis. I think I really should've just gone on hiatus or something. I wasn't feeling very inspired to post and plus my time was being eaten up by the other things I had to do in life. It's crazy how you work 8 hours a day and it drains the life out of you. Then you come home and you have to do all these chores for the house and put dinner on the table. Most nights I just want to go out and eat and not do anything, but I know that if I don't then the house just gets dirty or our lawn dies.

Dear life, please just slow down.

Most of my weekends have been filled with work too, but I try to relax by dressing more comfortable and sipping on some yummy Starbucks. Here's my outfit for this week's fancy.

The Honest Co

I don't generally consider myself an environmentally conscious person. Ah, I know shame on me. I do try whenever I can, read whenever most convenient, and recently I discovered The Honest Co. They have eco friendly home and daily products. Good for the environment and also good for you because these items are hypoallergenic. This company was started by the famous actress Jessica Alba! The company is named after her firstborn daughter, Honest. It's about mothers wanting to give their children the best possible start.

    10 on Tuesday

one. I changed the colors on this layout. I feel that pink is more me. Credit still goes to Natalie who made it though! Thought I swear one of these days I'll get off my ass and make my own layout.

two. And we danced by MACKLEMORE! Super frikken addicted to this song. It's so catchy and every time I listen to it I'm in a good moo. It makes me want to dance and bounce. The part where he says "Really really really really good time" reminds me of The Muppets and Ben Stiller in Zoolander.

three. Swap partners for the Summer Fun Swap were sent out. Can't wait to see what people get. Should be really fun with lots of summer items. I've been pretty good at not joining too many swaps. Keeping a good eye on my wallet.

four. A few weeks ago, one of my friends gave me some tomato plants. I'm excited to be going my own fruit. When I was in middle school I was growing tomatoes and zucchinis. There's a really satisfying feeling I get from eating food that I grow myself.

five. I started watching Touch. Hubs is a fan of that show so I'm watching it to catch up so we can watch together. Plus it's a frikken good show!

six. What the heck is going on with Amanda Bynes? Girl was super cute and grew up to be a beautiful woman, but it seems she's taken a spiraling turn for the worse. Also, did she get a boob job and lip fillers? She looks so unrecognizable now.

seven. I'm having a dirty brownie contest with my co-worker. Nothing like a little friendly competition and some yummy sweet treats.

eight. I won this amazing nail polish giveaway! I'll be doing a review post on all those nail polishes. Got to try them all. Thank you so much!

nine. Gawd it's so freakin hot lately. Sweatin my ass off. /dies/

ten. And as usual, I've run out of things to say.

    Sunday Social

I don't remember the last time I participated in Sunday Social! Usually my weekends are filled with grocery shopping, cleaning the house, laundry, hanging out with friends, running errands, etc. Finally had some time to take a breather and just blog.

    1. 4 favorite things to do on a weekend: SLEEP IN, of course! Go shopping at the local mall. There's nothing like retail therapy. Watch a movie in theaters and eat out somewhere new.

    2. 4 favorite things about your best friend: My hubs is my best friend! Some of my fave things about him. He tells me the truth and what's what. He's not shy about telling me my shit stinks. He cares about me all the time. He'll wake up in the middle of the night to put blankies on me. He knows when I'm sad and he tries to cheer me up. We're silly together!

    3. 4 things you would do with $100,000: I would spend about $500 on new clothes, take my hubs on a mini vacation to Disneyland, go out to a fancy restaurant, and then I use the rest to pay off some of our mortgage.

    4. 4 favorite books you’ve ever read: I don't read that much but some of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series, Pride and Prejudice, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Ella Enchanted.

    5. 4 favorite snack foods: Chocolate! Does that count as a snack? I also like shrimp chips, dried banana chips, and blueberries.

    Life

This quote is from my hubs. He said this to me when I was having a hard time, and it really encouraged me to be better. Sometimes I don't give him enough credit, but he sure has some life knowledge experience.

Live life, don't let life live you.

I know a lot of times we just get into a slump. We're just trying to get by, just trying to survive life and all the daily stress. This isn't about taking time to smell the flowers. This is about seizing opportunities before they're gone. It's about going big or going home. Living life is about experiencing things to their full potential and going after your dreams and doing things that you wouldn't normally do. Letting life live you is just drifting by and soon you'll be old with regrets.

    Things The Make Me Uncomfortable

Everyone has things that make them uncomfortable, even me! Like most people I dislike public speaking. It's terrifying getting in front of a group of people to talk. They're watching you. It's hard to have so much spotlight on yourself. Suddenly all your flaws come out. Am I talking loud enough? Do I sound funny? Am I doing that weird thing with my lips? Are my eyes twitching? OMG, I think I'm gonna have a panic attack. Usually when I have to present, I start to black out. I can see straight in front of me and everything is a blur. It's terrible.

Another thing that I'm uncomfortable about is using the bathroom with others. I'm fine as long as we all get in, do our business, get out, and all the while without making any eye contact. One thing that disturbs me in particular are people who talk on their cellphones in the stall next to me. Awkward! I don't want to be hearing your phone conversations while I'm doing my business.

    So what makes you uncomfortable?

    Friday's Fancies - May Flowers

April showers bring May flowers! I remember saying that when I was a little kid. However, is it me or did it not rain as much this past April? Crazy weather. Also, I can't believe it's May already. This year is just really flying by, and summer is almost here. Well, here's my fancy for this week. I love the pastel colors and that necklace is very "me".

What's it like to be Lefthanded

Oh gawd, I saw the topic for today's post and the first thing that popped up in my head was that I should educate my readers on something related to my major. BORING! Haha, unless you like bio/math/science. So maybe another time...

I'm gonna take this on a different twist. Today I will be educating you about what it's like to be left-handed. If you didn't know this about me, yes I am left-handed. Sometimes I forget this about me like I don't realize this is something "special". Sometimes a person will notice and they'll be so shocked.

And ok, honestly I stole this post from Buzzfeed but it really relates to me!

About 10-12% of the world's population are left-handed.
August 13th is the official lefties day!

    Things that Lefties HATE:
    1. Writing in spiral notebooks or 3-ring binders. It's PAINFUL!
    2. Trying to learn some sports like baseball. Which way do you hold the bat?
    3. Scissors that are made for Righties.
    4. Ballpoint pens don’t work as well because we're pushing, not pulling the ball
    5. Getting ink/lead all over our hands from writing.
    6. Bumping elbows at the dinner table with the person on our left.
    7. School desks that have right arm table.

Also, it should be noted that not all Lefties are purely lefties. For example, I do some things with my right hand such as using scissors and can opener. I'm also ok to use a right-handed mouse. The benefit of this is I can surf the web and do my homework at the same time.
